Flemington, NJ - Spartan players, Ryan Whalen and Ryan McCarthy, visited a training session at GFSC on Monday evening. The players judged some skills competitions, spoke to the players about the importance practice and signed autographs for young fans. Whalen and McCarthy are products of nearby Ridge High School. GFSC Director of Coaching and Hunterdon Central Head Boys Coach, Anson Smith, recognized the pair from past high school meetings. Smith said, "It is important for young players to see people from their area moving on to the next level."
The GFSC youth players will have the chance to see McCarthy, Whalen and the rest of the Spartans in action tonight at 8 p.m. at Rider University. Players wearing a GFSC jersey get in for free.
